The Tamil Tigers are attacking yet again– this time on both the state and the citizens. Early this morning, across the globe, a female in Sri Lanka took her life along with at least a dozen others at a railway station in one of the central cities. The day before, a bomb exploded on a bus killing nearly 20 others. These deaths are now added to the counting total that has exceed 70,000 lives taken since the founding of the tigers in 1983.
Taking out the transportation systems is certainly not a new concept, as it has been done for decades by other terrorist organizations, because it works. It instills fear in a country, for using any method of transportation, which could set-back an entire country. If public transportation is not used, that pays quite a toll on both the citizens and the economy, as the main method of transportation in Sri Lanka (as in most countries) is through public roads. Yet since this is an attack on its own country, perhaps the Tamil Tigers are attempting to weaken it enough that Sri Lanka will surrender, and give them the northern territory that this blood is being spilt over.
